Step 2: Fill out our adoption application and complete a short in person interview
Step 3: Once we review your application for approval, respond to us within 48 Hours.
Step 4: Complete the final paperwork for assuming ownership of the cat and pay our adoption fee.
Step 5: Return home with your new furever friend!
The first step in the adoption process is coming to visit our shelter and interacting with our current adoptable cats. We urge every potential adopter to spend time with the cats and engage with our knowledgeable staff to find the right fit in your home. Be mindful of our operating hours to ensure plenty of time for the cats to get to know you. No adoptions are done during the last half hour we are open, (2:30pm wed-fri, sun and 3:30pm sat). If a cat doesn’t respond positively, such as hiding or running away, it is at the discretion of management whether or not that adoption will proceed. So, bear in mind, we reserve the right to refuse any adoption of any reason, at our absolute discretion.
Once you've selected a cat that you're interested in adopting, there is a short interview and an adoption application. Once we have received your application, we will review the details and respond within 24 hours. We can, in most cases reach a decision same day, provided the application is completed and received before the adoption cut off time. In some cases we may request additional information or an additional in person interview after reviewing an application. Once the adoption has been approved, adopters must contact us within 48 hours to arrange for pickup of the cat and processing of the adoption fee. If additional time is needed for home preparations for the cat, or other circumstances, we offer a non-refundable 1 week hold fee ($30 for a single cat, $50 for a pair) that counts towards the total adoption fee.
On the day of pickup, please be prepared to fill out the final paperwork for assuming ownership of the cat, and paying the adoption fee. We do accept cash or check, but prefer card payments. Please bring a cat carrier for transporting the cat safely home. We will provide you with any relevant medical records we have on file, information about your cat's microchip, and a small amount of the foods we have been providing the cat to ensure a smooth transition to their new home.
Please check out our Petfinder page below to see some of the cats we have available.
We update Petfinder once we have a good grasp of each cat's personality, they have been spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV, had all age appropriate shots, and been microchipped. Sometimes our kitties get adopted before we have the chance!
